Project Reveal – The Industrial Chic Home – Private Spaces
Created by Vinithra Amarnathan on July 22, 2021
I hope you have already had a chance to walk through the expansive living areas in this home! We’re ready to reveal the rest of this beautiful home that has the private spaces – Master and guest bedroom and a home theater room.
Master Bedroom
The most private space in this apartment is the master and it’s sexy and striking yet understated and chic at the same time! The walls are fluted three quarters of the way and painted a sharp black with a contrasting white on top. We love how this visually expands the room and adds height!
We added a large comfortable fully upholstered floor bed to soften the edginess of the bold black and white. It creates a plush yet relaxed space. The custom bed sits atop a modern abstract rug in tones of gray, black and green tones and an oversized corner chandelier in black metal and glass hanging above the floor bed makes for a dramatic visual!
We’ve continued the red brick on to the opposite wall and created a distressed plaster wall to hone in on the urban industrial feel. A large emerald velvet upholstered chair sits next to a distressed emerald corner table in the corner.
On the opposite wall we have an oversized mirror and a console that doubles up as Daniela’s vanity.
The master bathroom and walk in are designed in the same palettes of natural wood, glass and metal. The walk in wardrobe has fluted glass and metal shutters for one section while the rest is left open for comfortable usage.
The master bathroom boasts distressed teal tile with hints of copper from floor to ceiling and a recycled wood tile highlights the back of the mirror wall. Using the same tile all through the floor and ceiling makes this bathroom feel so spacious.
Poured concrete countertops and a large sink anchored by a floating wood tone vanity create a modern rustic vibe. We added a set of pendants with planters for a hint of green and gold fixtures.
Home Theater
The home theater was a fun spot for us to design! Daniel and Arun had mentioned that ‘Fight Club’ was one of their favorite movies and the idea of incorporating one of the scenes as a mural set the tone for this space! The mural acts as a beautiful bold backdrop for the tone on tone home theater room.
The walls are lined in deep blue foam, and the projector wall and ceiling retain the concrete finish like rest of the home. Slim wooden slats with inbuilt lighting span the wall and ceiling and make for a beautiful view!
A large oversized sleeper sectional in navy velvet and a bold orange ottoman are the only pieces of furniture along with a bold rug and an arc lamp.
What’s of note here is the custom made 10ft long mesh door media console. Framed with a solid teak wood top and custom mesh doors this console is a one of our many custom designed furniture pieces in the home!
Powder Bathroom
Right outside the home theater and adjoining the dining is the striking black and bold powder room. We added vertical bead boarding all over and accented the top with a bold botanical inspired wallpaper. The fluted bead board is carried through to conceal a linen closet we added here for additional storage.
Guest Bedroom
To the left of the lounge room on the opposite side of the apartment is a guest bedroom. We kept this space simple treating the walls in a beautiful plaster finish and added wall to wall teak veneer wrapped custom wardrobes for additional storage.
A sleek light gray upholstered bed, simple glass and metal bedside tables and modern swing arm sconces create a chic modern space. A bold rug and an upholstered armchair in Daniela’s favorite color turquoise bring in a pop of color.
I hope you enjoyed knowing more about the private spaces in this home. We are so proud of how this home came together and can’t wait to be back here to share more of our ongoing projects with you all!
Until then stay positive, healthy and safe ♥️
